Teaching Assistant

I had the opportunity to TA a graduate-level GIS course focused on mobile application development and web protocols, working with a cohort of 18 students.

Each week I participated in class sessions and discussions, helping guide conversations around technical concepts and real-world GIS workflows. Students tackled an impressive range of projects — developing web applications, designing custom base maps, deploying ArcGIS Server on a virtual machine, publishing feature services, and building data collection surveys in Survey 123.

The level of work the students produced was excellent; their performance throughout the semester was exceptional and made the experience genuinely rewarding.

Outside of class, I was available to support students individually as they worked through the more challenging deployment and development tasks, and provided feedback on assignments to help them stay on track.

Collaborating closely with both the professor and the students deepened my own understanding of the course material in ways I didn’t expect, and the experience as a whole sharpened my skills in teaching and academic administration.

This experience was a highlight my time in this program, and I am honored and grateful to have been able to participate.
